NAAJA is a legal service that provides high quality advice, representation and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the Northern Territory. NAAJA’s Civil Law teams provide legal assistance in child protection cases.  This includes:

  • running advice clinics and a duty lawyer service at court to assist family members with child protection cases;
  • advising family members when a child is removed by Territory Families and taken into care;
  • representing family members at child protection court;
  • helping family members speak to Territory Families about children in care.

NAAJA’s Civil Law team in the Central Region (Alice Springs and Tennant Creek) also assist with family law issues.

Located: Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.  NAAJA also travels to many remote communities across the Northern Territory.
